For five years Ernesto has been lending his voice to experimental music projects. Frontiers Magazine described him as "The most exciting and flamboyant personality to shake up the opera world since Klaus Nomi" and Italian newspaper La Repubblica called him "a leading figure in avant-garde circles with his seducing high voice".
In 2007 he begun an ongoing artistic relationship with composer Othon; as "Othon & Tomasini" they have toured Europe to great acclaim, attracting a loyal fan base. Shortly after he teamed up with musicians Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Larsen), Paul Beauchamp (Black Cave Salamander) and Evor Ameisie (N/G), founding with them the band Almagest!.
He has also performed with Andrew Liles (Nurse With Wound) and has appeared live with Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson (Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV) and Current 93.
More recently he started an avant-garde (punk-opera-noise) group with dj José Macabra, called Trans4Leben.
Ernesto sings ten tracks on Othon's two albums, all the songs on Almagest!'s three albums (which he also co-wrote), plus appears (and co-devised) on two cds by Liles. "Mash Coo Louna" (2010), a song penned with Rolo McGinty of the Woodentops, the single "Last Night I Paid To Close My Eyes" (with Othon and Marc Almond, 2011), and "Disco Chrome", a track from XXL's (Xiu Xiu + Larsen) latest album "Düde" (2012), complete his list of published recordings.
